What I'm focused on this month, updated when it changes.
Updated

At work
- Writing charters for AI-run projects so every one looks the same: outcome, decision rights, access, milestones with one review each.
- Moving AI agents off human logins onto their own least-privilege identities, filed through compliance first.
- Three agents in shadow mode (a ticket-quality gate, a database script sync team, a DM redirector), proposing while people act. They graduate in November if they earn it.
- Kicking off a reporting-database project after a proof of concept that held up at ten times peak load.
Building
- Morning Stack, on public sale since August. Scheduled agents handle monitoring, weekly code review, support triage and reporting. I handle judgment.
- This site, built in October by AI agents under my direction. The colophon has the details.
Keeping sharp
- Azure architecture, working through the Solutions Architect material to put a name on the design work I already do.
- Terraform, so I have an honest second tool next to Bicep.
- What I brought home from The AI Conference in San Francisco at the end of September. One pattern from it became an approved control within a day.
Around here
- Phase 1 of the Portland Bypass is under construction through spring 2028, and lanes shifted on Highway 52 in late September. Plan for it if you're driving in.
- Tech walks most mornings: an hour on foot with a podcast before the first meeting.
- Taking on a few local engagements between Bowling Green and Hendersonville. When I'm full, this page will say so.
A now page is an idea from Derek Sivers; there's a directory of them at nownownow.com (opens another site).
